Background
I am a learning coach at the Zemmer 8/9 Campus for Lapeer Community Schools. I spend most of my time supporting the teachers in the ELA department with curriculum development and implementation. I also support all teachers with their professional goals. My coaching cycles focus on research-based best practices in instruction, mainly in the areas of differentiation, formative assessment, and student-centered teaching.
Prior to being a learning coach, I taught reading intervention for three years, middle school ELA for two years, and high school English for three years. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary Education from Oakland University and my Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Saginaw Valley State University. I am passionate about inspiring students to become lifelong readers and learners, and I am grateful to make a living by doing what I love.
