About decoding intervention
The decoding intervention is a third tier of support offered to students with low sight word recognition. Decoding intervention takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, during the students' I-Connect. Students learn to use decoding strategies to read unfamiliar words and become more fluent readers by working on word sorts at their individual instructional levels. Overtime, students develop their sight word vocabulary.
